Running out of Internet???

So I just watched this ...

And whilst I didn't quite understand every last detail, I do get the jist of it. There are a specific number of internet addresses , 4 billion, and we are closing in on that number. Is this the new Y2K, no but I am willing to bet that the Media Outlets will start saying that next year. So what can you do and what is the solution. 1) There is nothing you the general consumer can do. 2) The ISPs and other content providers just need to switch over to a different address system called IPv6. Don't worry your computer is already ready to find these new addresses. Seems easy but it will take a huge amount of time to convert the web to this new system. Google has started, I think facebook should follow, and soon everyone else will fall in line. And then we can keep on keeping on with the internet and continue using up those addresses on stuff like this (click more than once its different everytime) ....

Comic-Con, I wish I was there...

San Diego Comic-Con International
Am I a nerd for watching Live-blogs of panels going on at the San Diego Comic-Con.... No I am a nerd for loving to watch Live-blogs of panels going on at the San Diego Comic-Con! And dont even get me started on LiveBlogs of the Apple press events cause I watch those too. There is just something about watch/reading whats going on live somewhere that thrills me. I can't make it to Comic-Con and the local Con, MegaCon, is alright. (Perhaps in another feature I can write about the potential of this con and its current under use.) But being able to feel the excitement from the other side of the continent makes me happy. For instance this evening I watched the Live-blog of the Marvel Studios Captain America/Thor Panel, and it was awesome! First they showed footage of Captain America, including shots of the new costume (no not that one).... I couldn't see it but it sounded great. Then the Thor trailer in 3D ... again I couldnt see it but still.... And then they announced the logo for the Avengers movie! Followed by the entire cast of the Avengers movie. It was thrilling!!  Then I trolled twitter until I found a blurry twitpic of them. Ahhhh what a way to spend a saturday night. ..... I swear I am not quite as sad as I seem ....
Here is a screen cap of the awesomeness!!

Nerd Expansion: Doctor Who

Countdown to Infinite CrisisImage via Wikipedia
Allow me to tell you a story about a young geek oh so long ago. He was just a general geek, he liked videogames, computers and new of comic book characters but had never read one ever. So this nerd went to his local comic shop and told the purveyor of paper that he was a geek but was looking to expand into full on nerd by reading his first comic. He handed this newfound nerd "Countdown to Infinite Crisis" and he loved it. And now it is time once again for this anonymous nerd to expand his horizons. Doctor Who is not new by any means but he is new to me. And seeing that I am currently in the summer TV drought  I thought that I might as well see what all the hub bub is about. For those of you not in the know a quick search of wikipedia has informed me of this:

Doctor Who is a British science fiction television programme produced by the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC). The programme depicts the adventures of a mysterious and eccentric humanoid alien known as the Doctor who travels through time and space in his spacecraft, the TARDIS (an acronym for Time And Relative Dimension In Space), which normally appears from the exterior to be a blue 1950s British police box. With his companions, he explores time and space, faces a variety of foes, and rights wrongs.
So this show has been around for 5 decades... thats a lot to catch up on so I have to get going... Here is the trailer for the latest season that is about to end on BBC America.

After I have a few seasons under my belt I will give y'all an update.

Get Some Culture Ya Animal 2: The Sequel

come for the movies, stay for the beerImage by alamosbasement via Flickr
As I strolled across the internet I found these great posters from Mondo, a shop in Austin that creates custom posters and T-shirts. These great posters are from their Alamo Drafthouse Series, where they create posters for the movies the theater is showing that week. This is an example of true creativity, and I am jealous, I wish I could create something so awesome. If you like these check the sources and make sure to buy something I know I will.
